Internet Fiesta 2006 : how it was for me !!

20th March : the Internet has been celebrated all around the world and as for me I have been invited to some presentations held at Dropnath Rumphul College on that occasion. It debuted with the representatives showing us the actual trend of the net and followed with tons of blabla on how the net started and evolved with lots of definitions about spam, phishing and all sorts of malware and the things to do and don’t on the net : Ethics and Etiquette. On hearing all this stuff I thought that : Are they not just trying to make us fear of the net itself?? Just showing us only its dangers and with all those measures that we should take :anyone could soon fear it !

I think that for such a great day many interesting stuff about the net could be presented: in fact the web has evolved so much that we just can’t wait to visit it even with the hackers and malware around. Growing into the web 2.0

with stuff like social bookmarking, blogging, online storage of files and images, community gathering : ahh the web how a great place you are, how a nice and cool place you are… I know also that protecting ourselves is also a must and that’s why we have blog like PaulStamatiou.com to tell us how : Spyware won’t make us fear now, Intruders watch yourselves for our firewall that will burn your ….

Returning home after such a presentation, I now know when the Computer Security Day is held : 30th November : that’s what probably they have been discussing throughout this presentation. So all of you surfing around if you have been through such stuffs, don’t just see the wrong sides of things : the net is here all waiting with open arms to welcome us for a great journey enjoying its stuffs.

    @ Yasir: Hey Yasir I should instead thank Ash for the correction as there are some Droopnath Ramphul here so this would really be shame for us not knowing how to spell their college. Cheers Ash for the help ;-)

    As for the stuff of download.com that’s what they told to do at the presentation of Internet Fiesta when someone was asking how to get some antispyware.So I don’t think that will be helping Neha a lot ..Don’t worry there is a nice post waiting to be published that will unreveal the great basooka that will give them what they deserve those spyware……
