July 16th, 2006 by Hans

I’ll here offer you some alternatives to desktop IM clients like Live Messenger,Yahoo Messenger and others which will allow you to IM without leaving your sweet browser. You’ll be able to surf, reply to your mails, read your favourite blogs while being in conversation with your friends and relatives simultaneously. The added benefit to IM within your browser is that you can be sign into several IM services at the same time, talk to your brother on Jabber, discuss stuffs with your friends on MSN Messenger while chit-chatting with others on lots of other such IM services.

All that you’ll need is to have the respective ID at hands for the corresponding IM services. You put it into the appropriate input boxes together with your password for that account and there you’re online in your favourite IM service. No software required, no installation!

IM on your browser

Here’s some added benefits to IM within your browser:

  1. Sign into different IM services(MSN, Yahoo, GTalk, Jabber, AIM) at the same time, allowing you to appear online on every of these IM services.
  2. Express sign-in and out. No more waiting like you would on the bulky IM software
  3. Your messages are stored even if you’re signed out, ready to be read the next time you sign-in.

Get onto meebo or check out an extensive list of other online IM services allowing you to IM directly within your browser. Enter your appropriate ID’s at the corresponding input boxes where you want to get online, click Sign On or the respective button.
