Featured BlogoStar Kyu from Kyusphere posting on his new found trick to access BlogoSquare from your WAP. Be a guest author you too as BlogoStar on BlogoSquare. Contact me if you have anything interesting to share
Have you ever thought of accessing a wordpress blog through Mobile Internet, also known as wap? I mean, wouldn’t it be nice to be able to read the latest posts and comments from your favourite blog anywhere, anytime, even when that powerful PC of yours is not at reach?
Determined that it was possible to do so, and encouraged by my dear friend Hans, I thus started examining my new challenge.
I started by googling “Blogosquare” on the web, to wap search the google wap site (see www.google.com/wml)

A glewap(google wap) search of BlogoSquare
And what do I find? Blogosquare front page!

BlogoSquare gets to the front
But the method however has a disadvantage. Indeed, The html (PC) -> wml (phone / PDA / or whatever) conversion is done by Google which cuts down the page into sections. Browsing thus becomes awkward as every time you would have to go through the list of recent posts before reaching what you are searching for.
I therefore tried to find a more convenient way of accessing a wordpress powered site from wap And the result is WapSquare.

BlogoSquare through the eyes of WapSquare
My dear friend Hans has granted me the honour to announce you all that WapSquare 1.0 BETA is now released. You can thus now access BlogoSquare from a wap device by entering either of the 2 URLs below.

Aknowledgements
Now for this release I’ve got to thank some people, without whom this would not have been possible. Here is the list. So, A million thanks to
- Hans, for getting me started in web programming (html, css…), and your continuous support, Thanks dude
- Leo if you ever come in here, thanks for your wml tutorial links
- Gamerz, the author of the original files I edited for this release
- Anyone I might have forgotten, sorry!
This is only a beta version, and it is bound to bug at least once. Please report errors in the comment form. Note that I would not upgrade WapSquare before the holidays, exams are approaching so I don’t think I’ll have time to work on WapSquare but still your feedbacks are ever welcomed. WapSquare it now BlogoSquare!
Have a happy (Web or wap) blogging!!

@ kyushiro
way too great my friend.
The shorty link also gets in practical.
But one thing, do people still use the WAP. I think the WAP is really now an abadonned project because sites owners weren’t willing to give another version just for the WAP.
GPRS and the 3G is now making everything way too easy. Try any of the blogs in the blogosphere with a 3G mobile, that’s just blogging alike on a PC but with a smaller screen and being able to move around.
Don’t know yet, whether everybody is considering the WAP as a dead project. I think Kyushiro, the one and only WAP and the modder gonna reveal some more. Perhaps who knows? Bring back love to the dead WAP.
Lol @ hans Thanks dude! hey wap is not dead man! Sites like tjat (Msn & icq chat platform @ tjat.com) are regularly updated and visited even by people with 3G!!! also, the prodigits (prodigits.co.uk) tech forum is THE place where to learn new things and get your pc problems solved! there are thousands of users there and were real beginners compared to these guys! Wap power forever!!!! lol cant write much more, ill surely come to show wap’s well alive later :))) hey dont know if its my browser but i cant see the submit buttom!!
thts really a nice website man!!anoop gave an invite to ur site for the proper choice of a cute logo.im honoured to be having friends like u guys…let me reveal my feelings.!!i approve ze logo guys..!

Erm, a bit late i know, mais de rien kyu

That was 2 years ago but happy you were able to put it in practice….
Hans, is the wap interface still up?

@ Leo :
it’s been a long time… I’ve removed it now…. infact as kyu-san would tell you, he setup it so that he could blog or keep track of comments from BlogoSquare right onto his mobile since you know at that time how the internet was cheap and fast with our 56kps……
