Would you revive those school memories?

November 11th, 2006 by Hans

Do you still remember your school days? How could I forget mine! I just went on holidays recently. But then school is back in my memories and I won’t be returning there nor see my buddies again. How about you, do you still preserve your school memories? Here that’s what I’m going to do.

It started at 7.35 a.m. I would be with the Form 1 kids taking the bus. As I was always late, I had to take their bus instead of the one for the upper boys. But then that was when I could pull myself from bed at 7 else I would also miss that bus and get on late.

It was then that a bubbling journey would start. Explaining some silly new excuses at the administration to set me free for a rush to my respective class on that day.

When that was Maths class, my struggling efforts would be useless. As I stepped in the maths’ room, a loud “Get out of my class!” would resonate through the whole class. Ah! A whole period out! What could I do? Most of the time gasping for my breath.

In the classroom, I wasn’t too talkative. It was during recess when I would meet my buddy Kyushiro that we would sat down eating our bread while chatting. Anime stuffs, manga geeks, rocking music and sometimes the TEACHERS!!!

Ah! The teachers! The maths one didn’t talked to me much since the day I rose my voice in the class and told him : “But Sir, you talked shit” freezing the classroom and electrifying every student on each of the words uttered. I was sorry about it later because he was good old man even with his annoying sarcastic questions but I wasn’t in the mood that day as I was ill.

And yeah the nice English lady. She was a really good teacher but we’re all under her powerful sleeping spell. I don’t know perhaps it was her voice, her eyes or her face but we were all sleeping. I remembered once I was in a complete trance, struggling to pull my eye’s lid apart after some of her questions that woke me up. She always did that when she knew we’re sleeping.

On Tuesdays, it would be physical education. SPORTS! At school we didn’t have a gymnasium so it was some exercises and then a run after the ball. FOOTBALL! I loved playing football with my buddies even if we’re amateur and we’re all onto some funny and stupid moves and pass. For the stupid ones, that were me.

Perhaps I shouldn’t keep such wonderful memories for the other classes: Physics, French and Computing. Let’s pass on.

Then that’s my school memory at Piton State Secondary College. A memorable year sealed with the fun time I had with my buddies. Do you still keep such memories after school, after you left your buddies. What were your most memorable ones? Would you tell us?

P.S A word for my buddies : Let’s make this PSC Hi5 group stand among the crowd, let’s not lose track of our mobile numbers and mail because we’re once all buddies of PSC, because we’re the only ones who knew what we’ve gone through.

I never set foot in college again after I finished my HSC exams in November 1994. Not even once. Why should I? I had waited 7 years to get out of there!

  • 5 waz Nov 12, 2006 at 3:55 am

the year after HSC, i had set up a private MSN group for my close friends. they were all going overseas to study. two years later, some were still contributing while others had long disappeared.

fast track to present time: only Kaz (London) n meself (Auckland) are still in touch. we blog, chat n email. zee others!?! gone missing in action. zat’s life! i’ve been to my college only twice since then. i miss zose days n the sense of brotherhood but we need to move on. only thing i’m looking forward to is to be back home n hopefully, in the near future to catch up with Kaz n any other pals

    @ Jo

why? at least you’re not tiring yourself speaking 8)

  • 10 Hans Nov 12, 2006 at 2:09 pm

    @ Eddy

I think it wasn’t much for the memory of the school but for my buddies and the time we had together. How about you? Your friends then =D any good memory you had with them?

  • 11 Hans Nov 12, 2006 at 2:16 pm

    @ waz

hope many of your buddies would be present for the Reunion waz( 8) ff7) . yeah when someone sets for abroad, life there gets them busy I suppose. Some for work, girls, study : so much to manage and little time to keep the ties with your buddies. I also think that life abroad changes them. Wouldn’t it?

Many of my cousins went abroad and now when they come back for holidays, I wouldn’t recognise them. They would be somebody else. hope your buddies are still buddy-friendly then

  • 12 Hans Nov 12, 2006 at 2:21 pm

    @ Lash

hey Lash, don’t tell me. Wouldn’t that be possible when you’re at University? Would uni’s life be such different compared to college one.

  • 13 Hans Nov 12, 2006 at 2:39 pm

    @ nym

Yeah, I may consider exams over and holidays open :agree: but as for university, I haven’t yet decided. I don’t know exactly. My parents tell me to study in Mauritius itself, friends and relatives have advised me UK, France, Australia or Ireland. I don’t know, I still haven’t thought again about studying for the time being.

If it would be only for me, I would spent the rest of my life on holiday. :clown:

I missed my school days too  !I was always complaining and wishing school was over but now just for a week I wish I could go back to the good old days =P

  • 18 Khalil A. Nov 12, 2006 at 10:28 pm

You’re in hols!!?? Man, how lucky is that? I still’ve got 6 papers left: chemistry, physics and biology. I’m not over until next week.

    Gosh, that’s so cruel.

  • 19 Hans Nov 12, 2006 at 10:45 pm

    @ kyu

yeah :agree:  that’s why I think the Hi5 group should be kept running because actually if you consider it, the upper ones have lost all ties with the lower 6 ones. Sunny the horse, madaye and the others!

So what are you waiting for to get us connected through broadband  hurry up man =D let’s make out some noise. hey don’t worry your comments, any one(in English indeed) are all welcomed in here :clown: 8)

  • 20 Hans Nov 12, 2006 at 10:51 pm

    @ angele

can’t escape work as it would be for school I suppose  hey for the week back to school, wouldn’t it be easier to get all your friends together for a ride, that would revive some memories, wouldn’t it? I don’t know don’t you girls hang out with your college buddies even when you’re working =D would that be fun as it was back when you were at school! or probably now : work, family and lots of responsibility ;P :aww:

  • 21 Hans Nov 12, 2006 at 10:55 pm

    @ Khalil.A

Hang on bro. Seems the pure science isn’t letting you free so easily. wow, it’s cruel! to be doing such combination, all 3 science subjects 8) are you still alive? hope you won’t have much brain damage after that!

    hey when are yours over?

  • 23 Khalil A. Nov 12, 2006 at 11:24 pm

I’m over on the 21st!! Can you believe that. Practically all of my friends are done with school this thursday with the physics papers. But I’ve still got biology next week. My subsidiary subject.

  • 24 HellMaster_Jo Nov 13, 2006 at 12:50 am

    So @ work boyz
    Hurry up!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 25 Nyssa Nov 14, 2006 at 12:33 pm

I don’t think any of us ever truly forget school. And I think we all miss in some way… whether it’s the real geeks that miss learning new things (that would be me) or the people that miss the social life of school. I know I still really miss school sometimes.

Anyway, welcome back! Good to read some blogging goodness from you. And your blog looks fantastic. Very minimal. =P

  • 26 Hans Nov 14, 2006 at 2:03 pm

    @ Nyssa

Too great to have you reading Nyssa, thanks for it and nice you like the theme. I said it I think there should be some Reboots at the end of the year instead because I suppose most of us change the look at the end of the year instead of months like May or June. :clown:

how about you, when do you like rebooting?

and yeah school memories stay with us but actually if you consider it every year we’re onto some learning either at the college, uni or even at work but I suppose it’s our buddies who make the whole difference in all of this.
