The world’s most popular logo at your mercy

December 2nd, 2006 by Hans

How would your name appear in Google? Have you ever imagined it instead of the famous Google logo, there sitting up that search box. OK, just to make Google know we want a better personalised homepage, one caring even to display our words instead of their logo : try this phunky tool.

Then come again to try out this test. Its deal is to see whether you can recognise famous company and service logos that have been around. You would be amazed to notice that you’ll fail to recognise most of them.

Here’s my Google. Wanna let me see yours?

lol, looks nice the new logos, but i dont think that putting this somewhere will make us feel more proud since the logo style is not outdated, except for its own original company

I actually blogged about Google’s font and that’s one of my posts which attracts the most number of views coming to think of it.

The font name is “Book Antiqua” or “Catull font.” They’re practically identical, although you’ll have to pay to get the second font while the first one is free. And there’s a great tutorial on how to re-create the Google logo - and ultimately the Blogosquare-Google logo - as well.

    @ Yashvin

yeah…but I was thinking how would that be if we could put a Google search box within our site/blog and when the search results would be displayed, there you’re at the top…..your blog’s name instead of the one for Google.

Then the above logo could really be of great use to all of us….

    @ waz..

what’s there to be conquered with WWW? I don’t know any romantic lines that could woo the web….do you? have you ever tried? is the WWW sexy?

as for the short break, I was at the south tip of Mauritius with some relatives, enjoying the great beaches with those high waves……and it’s just yesterday that I came back….

    @ Josh

I think that search page would be used only to search BlogoSquare itself :grinnod: as I told Yashvin the uses it could have.

    @ Khalil

thanks for sharing that with us, man. The Book Antiqua!!!!!! =| was Google in short of fonts to have that one? sincerely I thought they came with it the first. As I told ya on your blog, probably it was just for keeping everything simple. Google : the most minimalist thing on earth..who knows then why they chose that?

romantic lines!?! hmm, haven’t tried any yet…last i heard i haven’t fallen in love :P

  • 14 Hans Dec 9, 2006 at 2:34 pm

    @ waz

I think then Khalil could concoct some for the lovely WWW  but I’m sure you’ve got some lovely words each time you stumble upon something great with Google or things alike….. wouldn’t you?
