Download the Cloudy smilies
I’ve adapted some smilies created by David Lanham to work with WordPress. All you’ll need is to have the more smilies plugins activated. With this plugin you can integrate further smilies package like those from Nyssa JBrown.
The Cloudy smilies’ package:
Installing the more-smilies plugins
Download the more smilies plugins here. I would suggest you the latest version which is currently the 2.1. Extract and upload the more-smilies folder to your plugins’ directory. To add further smilies package just drop them in the more-smilies folder where you would be seeing other smilies packages that come with the default plugins.
Installing the Cloudy smilies package
After downloading the Cloudy smilies package, extract and within it you’ll find the Cloudy folder, drop the Cloudy folder in that same more-smilies folder. Get to your plugins admin section, activate the More Smilies plugins. Then click the Options tab within your admin section and select the More smilies sub-tab. Choose the Cloudy package from the table and underneath it, click the update button. (ps : make sure the checkbox Convert emoticons like
and
to graphics on display is selected, which you’ll find before the table listing)

Actually only the smilies used by your WordPress’ blog are going to be changed. To give visitors the option to add their smilies within the comment form, just add this line of code somewhere in your comments.php file within the current theme you’re using. Underneath your input field might be a good choice :
<?php do_action('comment_toolbar', 'comment'); ?>
That’s it all. Now visitors are allowed to add the smilies according to the package you’ve selected in the options panel.
Have you got any Smilies/emoticons package you would want to share with us?
