Post asides directly on your blog

2008 August 16th

Do you need all the Wordpress Admin features and facilities when it comes to posting your ‘Asides’ posts? ‘Asides’ are supposed to be a short plain text version of your posts, right? Instead of logging inside your admin to write a short post, you could post it directly from your blog which will allow you mostly to keep your post as short as possible.

Ian Steward tells you in his 2 minutes post, How To Add Prologue-Theme Posting To Your WordPress Theme, which will let you have a writing form on your blog. You will end up with something like that :

writing post form on your blog

Depending on where you want your writing form to appear, paste the code in the corresponding wordpress files. I’ve tried it on the sidebar instead and it works great too. The form will only appear when you’re logged in so visitors will see nothing of it.
